TurboTax Home & Business Federal + State + eFile 2008
I bought this because the H&R Block software started getting totally unreliable after I made a few changes. Yes, the interviews are more extensive with TT, but beware--check the forms after each interview, there is no guarantee that a successful interview will produce the correct results on the form. They are using the interviews to differentiate their product from that of the competition. The underlying software is equally bad for both of them. You can tell that the software engineers had no tax accounting experience. If you don't want to get involved with the forms go to a tax preparer, not looking at the accuracy of the forms can mean setting yourself up for an audit, or paying the government too much.

Federal form Help is pretty detailed, but state form Help not as informative. Got bogged down using this program for Ga. and Calif. But, I liked TurboTax and believe I prefer using it to submitting info to an accountant.Customer Review: Unfortunate.

A slick package promising a large amount of features, but no major improvements have been made with this type of software. I would only trust the most basic of tax returns to TurboTax. A person with a simple tax return would be even better simply filling the forms out on their own. Works great, we really liked it. Pretty easy to use, just have everything organized prior to starting. Some people complain that you have to buy a new version every year, but compared to the cost of paying our accountant every year we will happily pay for this. Customer Review: Easy to use, some kinks

Overall, I found this software to be quick and easy to work with. I feel confident that, with assistance of the software, I found all the deductions and options I was eligible for. My only gripe is that the program doesn't allow you to jump into the center of a series of questions. If you want to review one item, you have to run through the gauntlet of questions again. A small inconvenience within an otherwise great product.
