Main problem seems to be that pricing varies daily. Then its questionable as to what you get / dont get. My comments on this dont even seem to get posted, like other prior (foaming?) negative accounts ($37 vs $47). Intresting the boxed set is now $42 compared to $47 download (thats if you get the same product..who knows anymore).
Im intending on using the competition H&R Block or even going back to paper forms, the only way to really vote is by not buying. If enough people do this, perhaps next year TT will understand the need for straightforward pricing and product.
Customer Review: Easy, breezy returns - but beware of few bugs

Turbo tax is really easy and convenient to use. However, there are two major bugs for 2008 edition which you need to be aware of. Especially if you're a homeowner/renter and had received any homestead rebate in 2008.
First, if you're a renter and trying to get tax deduction or credit, program defaults you to homeowner. There are no options to input the amount of rent you paid or anything. This is a bug that multiple people had already notified Turbo tax about but it's still not fixed.
Second if you had a homestead tax rebate from your state for 2008 (I filed for NJ resident and NY non-resident), you cannot for the life of god make it count as taxable income unless you had filed for 2007 with online version of TT as well. The reason is that program assumes you had not itemized your deductions in 2007 if it has no online data for your previous tax year. I had itemized my deductions previous year, but TT has no options for you to change it. So you have a grand option of a)speaking for an hour with TT tech rep and trying to transfer your offline returns to online b)filing it wrongly and then correcting form on your state return yourself c) skipping the filing with Turbo Tax this year altogether.
I think I will go with option C. Which is sad, because I really liked the program. I started with online deluxe version but will probably not choose to file with it. I rather pay [...] to my local accountant than deal with headache of calling my state tax authorities and straightening all the mess created by multiple bugs in program.

????Don't Understand????NexTag Shopping Comparison advertised this product for sale at Amazon for $37.99 on 2/22, but when I try to purchase it by clicking on the price/store, it takes me to Amazon but their price is $47.49. After seeing alot of complaints about the download version I thought I would chime in with my experience. I have used TurboTax for the last 12 years. I have a one year old PC with MS Vista Home Premium 64bit OS and the Amazon Downloader worked fine and I was able to create my return, download state, efile (Federal only) with no problems at all. The entire process including download/install (which took less than 5 minutes a Cox Broadband cable connection), entering in return info, etc. was less than 2 hours.
I bought yesterday the download version for $37.99 but see today it is $47.49 (seem crazy to have the fluctation like this). My advice is to keep monitoring and strike when it's cheap. I knocked it down 1 star do to this practice otherwise it had 5 stars going.

Before buying Turbo Tax Deluxe Federal + state + e-file , I read all kinds of online complaints that when you buy the Turbo Tax Deluxe Federal + state + e-file that you will have to pay $39.95 more for the state. This is not true unless you plan to do your taxes for more than one state. One state download is indeed free (included with the purchase of the product (Turbo Tax Deluxe Federal + state + e-file). Also, I read that you have to pay $9.95 for each additional federal filing, this is not true also. You can get up to 5 federal e-files included with this purchase. There is no reason why this product should receive less than five stars, I think any of the lesser ratings were premature, or due to user error. Very simple to download and use, and there is no bait & switch. Michelle
