Software Reviews of Quicken Personal Finances 2007 for Mac [OLD VERSION]Customer Review: Quicken for Mac Summary: 5 StarsAnother excellent buy from Amazon. I paid about 2/3 of the cost of the item at the time because it was on sale. I had just gotten away from a PC and needed a program that kept track of my checking and savings accounts. It works just fine. It carried all of my information over from Microsoft Money on my PC to my new iMac with ease. Enabled me to finally get rid of the PC.
Customer Review: A reflection of programming laziness and absurd neglect Summary: 1 StarsMy daughter insisted on a Mac for college. I have been a Quicken user for around 16 years and aside from a professional accountant - I about as nutty a fanatic as you can get. This program verges on criminal neglect in its absurd stupidity in terms of this release compared to the Windows version. For the life of me, I can not imagine why the version here is not nearly identical to windows. It has similar concepts but it's an awkward, multi-screen version that loses at every turn when a decision was made to keep or toss a windows concept that was sound, tested, simple, intuitive and efficient. This program is a pain to use. I had to engage B of A help to determine the work around for direct B of A online banking. The secret was NOT to follow Quicken's instructions but to "fake" the system - by first setting the account up manually and then using a backdoor to establish the online relationship. How is this possible? That Intuit wouldn't fix this immediately? The staff of Intuit owes the MAC community A) a product identical to windows and b) an apology for this abomination.
Customer Review: Quicken for Mac Summary: 5 StarsI have been using Quicken for over 10 years for a small business. I recently purchased an apple computer and wanted to continue using Quicken. I bought Quicken for Mac at a very reasonable price. I have been very pleased with my purchase of Quicken.
Customer Review: Quicken 2007 for the Mac is the crash master Summary: 1 StarsOther reviews discussing the pain of transferring Quicken files from a PC to a Mac are true. It took a while, and afterwards I wound up lowering my standards a bit -- not every transaction had the correct category assigned (the probably >90% of them did) and I had to add balance adjustments. But my primary problem with Quicken 2007 is that it crashes. That was supposed to be the benefit of moving to the Mac, and in general it has been -- except for Quicken. Right now, it's on it's 10th minute of memorizing a transaction. I've been using Quicken for a long time, and it's one of those programs in which subsequent releases make it less useable. On the bright side, Quicken 2007 has helped me learn how to find the ctr-alt-del equivalent for killing a hung application on my Mac.
Customer Review: Quicken is Quick Summary: 5 StarsI was nervous in purchasing the Mac version of Quicken since I am very familiar with the Windows version. I had read all the comments about difficulty in importing from Windows to Mac and decided not to even go that route. I started from scratch with the Mac version and absolutely love it. It's much easier to use than the Windows version. The only difficulty I've had has been the size of the font. It's very small and hard to read.
