Software Reviews of QuickBooks Pro 2009 [OLD VERSION]Customer Review: Begining to resent Intuit... Summary: 2 StarsI am a small business owner. I was using QB Pro 2003. I got "fatal error" code and was told I needed to upgrade, that the source of the problem was in the program. I was promised that upgrading would recover my data, it didn't. A couple of Intuit / QB observations/irritations:
I am constantly being peddled to, whether on the QB support line or embedded in the software as I attempt to use it.
I am growing increasingly resentful to that fact.
The upgrade takes almost 5 times longer to load every time I start it.
It takes easily 5 times longer to back-up.
I used to use MS briefcase to transfer QBW between my desktop and tablet, now that doesn't work because some portion of the QBW is read-only. I now have to back up and restore every time I transfer.
The thing that set me off enough to seek out this review forum and post is the fact that I had to call in and give them more info about me, wait on hold, and get peddled to, again, in order to register. I am trying to run a business here; I don't have time for this!! And now I have to call back and do it again to register the copy I have on my tablet pc!!
Intuit: you are a bunch of fools if you think us business people don't see right through this. I am growing resentful of you and your tactics!!
Customer Review: Tip to get rid of annoying ads and popups in QB 2009 Summary: 3 StarsI just upgraded from QB 2005 to QB 2009 and it's taken me a day to get the setting tweaked to how I'm used to it. So far I haven't found any new functionality that's very exciting, and the program seems to run slower than the 2005 version.
But one thing that was driving me crazy was the pop up ads for setting up an Intuit account, or other ads that would pop up on opening. I just figured out where to disable this. Go to Edit/Preferences/General/My Preferences tab and check the box that says "Turn off pop-up messages for products and services."
Customer Review: Buggy Summary: 3 StarsI had to upgrade to this version with Vista. Well, I guess they were not quite done with their upgrade. It just stops and locks up when trying to print some pdf reports. No reason, no help, just stops. I was able to get this going by googling. When backing up, it reports an error message. I was able to fix this by googling.
It nags you to death, trying to sell you stuff. Please I paid for this, leave me alone already.
If you get Vista and have an older version, you have no choice, but to upgrade.
Customer Review: QuickBook Pro 2009 Summary: 5 Stars
I have used QuickBooks before and I am glad I got the Pro 2009. It is easier and more complete that the years before. I recommend it highly.
When you are typing a name starting with M, all the stored names starting with that letter show so that you may select the correct one.
I have only used it for a week, but already I would not go back to the one I had before.
Customer Review: Terrible Experience Quickbooks Pro 2009 Aug 2009 Summary: 1 StarsI was going thru the product registration after my purchase here on Amazon. When I called Intuit they said my product license was taken by another company. It is now my burden to PROVE to Intuit Quickbooks at my expense that I actually purchased the product. The Indian call center can't understand my name is Jim and not Kim. If they can't get their product Licensing #'s correct how can they get the banking info correct? How you do anything is how you do everything and they are doing this (running a business) very poorly. Call Microsoft to get it done right.
