Software Reviews of QuickBooks 2009 For Mac [OLD VERSION]

Customer Review: Full of bugs
Summary: 1 Stars

If you had been hoping that the backup to MobileMe function in quickbooks would be a great help in insuring against data loss forget it - the function fails repeatedly on my iMac - and don't waste your time trying to resolve the issues with Intuit because all they do is finger-point to apple saying it's their issue. Don't buy this software under any circumstances until Intuit have stopped their arrogant posturing about the product and get down to building robust fixes for the many bugs reported.

Customer Review: Works fine
Summary: 5 Stars

Before I bought this product, I read a lot of reviews about how horrible the Mac version is.

Well after using it, I've had no problems with it whatsoever. My accountant only has the windows version and we are able to communicate and share just fine.

Just like any other software, most of the world has the PC version, but if you prefer to use your mac, then by all means, get this version.

Customer Review: Caution
Summary: 2 Stars

Do not purchase Quick Books Mac 2009 if you want to do payroll using Quick Books. Intuit does not have a written payroll program to use with Quick Books!

Customer Review: Not even past the "new company setup assistant" yet...
Summary: 1 Stars

Ugh. I bought this for a discounted price, thank goodness--but still. I have noticed repeated times the program does not see that indeed the space has been filled or a name has been chosen or entered for something and won't let you go on, saying you have yet to enter anything. Then, and this is holding me up now, you get toward the end of the "new company setup assistant" and it implores you to print out all these crucial "HELP DOCUMENTS" and when I go to print them, it opens up a random Mac (not QuickBooks!) help window that doesn't even apply to what I am doing. Now I guess I have to call someone because the program is not working in a way that makes sense. Great...

We got this because we are Mac folks and hoped our needs would be simple enough that we'd get through this and utilize this software in simple ways (we are a VERY small business). But here we can't even get through the setup.

I knew I should have bought some accounting pads, an abacus, and a box of number two pencils...

Customer Review: Poor Engineering
Summary: 1 Stars

I found that downloaded transactions are not automatically selected once one transaction has been added to the Register and Recorded, necessitating selection of the next transaction with the mouse. Further, the Payee name provided by the bank is not highlighted but the insertion point is added after the word, necessitating highlight and delete or multiple use of the keyboard delete key. Neither of these faults existed in Mac 2006.
I called Intuit to complain and was told that this can not be corrected as that is the way that it was written in 2009 version. The tech apologized for the faulty work and suggested I get 2007 version.
